High-Quality Corundum-Mullite Shaped Brick from China Suppliers and Factory for High-Temperature Applications
Composition and Classification
Main Components
Corundum-mullite bricks are mainly made of corundum and mullite as raw materials, with an appropriate amount of alumina, silica ultrafine powder and additives added. The content of Al₂O₃ is usually between 80% and 90%.
Classification
According to the content of the main component Al₂O₃, it can be divided into four grades: GMZ-80, GMZ-85.
Features
- Good Thermal Resistance: It has a high refractoriness and can be used for a long time at temperatures above 1700°C. The initial temperature of load softening is between 1600°C and 1700°C.
- Strong Thermal Stability: It can withstand rapid changes in temperature, has good thermal shock resistance, and is resistant to extreme cold and heat, and is not easy to spall.
- High Chemical Stability: It has strong resistance to corrosive media such as acids and alkalis, as well as gases such as oxygen, hydrogen and carbon monoxide, and is not prone to chemical reactions.
- High Mechanical Strength: It has a high compressive strength at room temperature, which can reach 70-160MPa, and is resistant to pressure, wear and impact.
Application
Iron & Steel Metallurgy
Used for the linings of high-temperature equipment such as blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, ladles and tundishes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the main raw materials used in corundum-mullite bricks?
Corundum-mullite bricks are mainly made of corundum and mullite as raw materials, with an appropriate amount of alumina, silica ultrafine powder, and additives. The Al₂O₃ content typically ranges between 80% and 90%.
What is the maximum working temperature for these bricks?
They feature high refractoriness and can be used for a long time at temperatures above 1700°C. The initial temperature of load softening ranges between 1600°C and 1700°C.
How do corundum-mullite bricks perform under rapid temperature changes?
They exhibit strong thermal stability and good thermal shock resistance. They can withstand rapid changes in temperature and resist extreme cold and heat without easily spalling.
Are these bricks resistant to chemical corrosion?
Yes, they have high chemical stability and offer strong resistance to corrosive media like acids and alkalis, as well as gases such as oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide.
What are the primary applications of corundum-mullite bricks?
They are widely used in the iron and steel metallurgy industry (blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, ladles), petroleum and chemical industries (high-temperature reaction furnaces), power industry (boilers, steam turbines), and the glass and ceramics industry (kilns).
What is the difference in cold crushing strength between DM-80 and DM-85?
Based on physical indicators, DM-80 has a cold crushing strength of 115 MPa, while DM-85 has a slightly higher cold crushing strength of 120 MPa.
